"Chernivtsi Innovative 2021". Discussion of science, business and government of Chernivtsi at a round table

On May 27, Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University invited us to the meeting “Innovative Chernivtsi 2021” and round table “Synergy of science, business and government in Chernivtsi. Engineering of the future”.
 
Over 30 guests took part in the round table discussion. We had an opportunity to get acquainted with Andriy Samila, Vice-Rector for Research of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, and with other representatives of management and academic staff the university as well as with the leader of Chernivtsi IT cluster and representatives of socially active business, including the companies in the sphere of instrumentation engineering which are strategically important for Chernivtsi, such as Rhythm Optoelectronics, Inc., Scientific and Production Company "Tenzor", and others.
The Head of Noosphere Engineering School presented to the guests the capabilities, goals and values of our laboratories, and also announced the establishment of specialized educational and scientific center of "Noosphere Engineering School" at the Department of Computer Systems of ChNU.

Kateryna Molodetska, Head of Noosphere Engineering School in Zhytomyr, shared the successes of the projects created by the members of our scientific and technical laboratory based on Polissia National University, like CUSTOM WORLD, SPACE SPHERE, MOON MIRROR and others (find the details of the progress of the laboratory in the article "The first year of operation of the laboratory and its results”).

The academic staff and business experts of Chernivtsi emphasized that the goals of the Engineering School are particularly relevant for regional universities – they are the ones that face particularly acute problem of the lack of applicants for the natural and mathematical specialties as well as technical ones.
The guests recognized the need to join their efforts and develop a joint action plan to promote engineering, respect to science and culture of scientific approach among students and young professionals from Ukraine.

As a result of the round table, the participants made a road map of the future joint activities of the university and business of Chernivtsi, and Noosphere Engineering School will be a platform for the effective communication between the societal units involved in the problems of the regional innovative potential. They also discussed the possibility of creating some kind of scientific and technical knowledge base, being available for business environment.

Sergiy Veretiuk, Head of Noosphere Engineering School, stressed out, “The formation of the future intellectual elite is our common endeavor, and now Ukrainian universities need to put emphasis on the engineering and scientific specialties. It is necessary to literally create a fashion for the creation of innovative projects and startups among youth.”

Andriy Samila, Vice-Rector for Research of Yuriy Fedkovych ChNU, noted, “Promotion of technical education and engagement of talented youth is a prerequisite for the economic development of Ukraine. Therefore, innovative activities are priority areas of activities of Yuriy Fedcovych Chernivtsi National University.”

Let us remind you that Noosphere Engineering School is one of social projects of Non-Governmental Organization “Association Noosphere”. Our project is a network of scientific and technical laboratories opened based on the higher educational institutions of Ukraine and equipped by NGO.
