We invite the schoolchildren of Cherkasy to join the EU Code Week

NGO “Association Noosphere” and Noosphere Engineering School at Cherkasy State Technological University joined the activities, held as a part of EU Code Week and Meet and Code initiative, being implemented by GURT Resource Center in cooperation with TechSoup Europe and Haus des Stiftens gGmbH and funded by SAP. 

Thus, on October 18-19, the two-day webinar on robotic technology will be conducted for schoolchildren aged 12 to 18 based on Noosphere Engineering School in Cherkasy (460 Shevchenka Blvd.). The participants of the webinar will have an opportunity to gain an experience in building a comfortable, safe and innovative city of the future, having programmed their own robot to perform tasks in the area of “Smart cities”.

The scheduled event is closely linked to the topic of the season FLL 2019-2020 “CITY SHAPER – build a city”. The educational robotic technology platform LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Education EV3 will enable the participants easily and simply to improve their knowledge in the area of engineering, programming and natural environment as well as to perform the educational tasks set out and to develop skills and abilities, being critical for XXI century.

The most interesting thing is that the members of “KiborgsUA” team, who are the repeated winners of all-Ukrainian, World and European competitions on robotic technology, will act as the webinar trainers!

During the webinar, the participants will have an opportunity:

-  to assemble and program an autonomous robot to perform certain missions in the context of the challenges that big cities face; 

- to create their own unique program code that will enable the most successful performance of the mission;

- to figure out the specifics of programming a robot based on the educational robotic technology platform LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Education EV3;

- to get involved in addressing the challenges of the growing megalopolises and building of smart, convenient and affordable infrastructure for their dwellers.
