On October 19, a 3D modeling course "Generation 3D" for high school students was completed at Noosphere Engineering School.
Educational events were held in the framework of the initiative "Meet and Code" implemented by the Resource Center Gurt in collaboration with the organizations TechSoup Europe and Haus des Stiftens gGmbH and financial support from SAP.
Course partner: Department of Space Information Technologies at Oles Honchar Dnipro National University.
Among the course audience were 36 students from 12 to 17 years old and 2 participants - teachers of the Dnipro Lyceum of Information Technologies at the DNU.
Pupils studied the theoretical foundations and gained practical knowledge in the following areas:
- 3D design
- Construction of the simplest 3D objects
- 3D printer design
- Preparing a CAD model and printing it on a 3D printer
The course ended with an award ceremony and a presentation of the students' projects created on 3D printers. Among the designs that students designed: a vase, a stand for a mobile phone, a stand for a pen, a chess piece, a keychain in the shape of a skull, a case for a flash drive, and much more. In addition, three-dimensional text models #codeEU and #meetandcode were also recreated on a 3D printer.
As a result of the training, staff and mentors of Noosphere Engineering School inspired 36 high school students to further study coding and 3D printing, and also helped pupils master the skills of developing 3D models on the printer.
We are proud that the NGO Association Noosphere, the partner department and all participants joined international initiatives, namely, the EU Coding Week and Meet and Code!
